Aside from remnants of the ancient times that are truly sight to behold, Dalyan was able to gain international allure due to its aim of preserving the natural habitat of the endangered Caretta Caretta, by opposing the construction of a commercialized hotel in one of its areas.

Climate

Experiencing Dalyan is best during the months of June, July, August and September because they complete the summer stretch of the year in the said place.

Attractions

Iztuzu Beach

Also known as Turkey’s turtle beach, this place serves as a hub for endangered loggerhead sea turtles. Iztuzu is alluring on its own as it boasts fine sands that are nice to walk on and the blue sea surrounding it is very appealing.

Caretta Caretta

The battle to preserve and nurture them began in 1987 when developers laid out a plan of building hotels right at the heart of these numbered species’ habitat.

Thanks to conservationists who fought and stressed the importance of leaving the turtles’ natural habitat, the place that was supposed to be a commercialized spot turned into a protected area where these animals can reproduce and live.

Kaunos

This archaeological site is one of the remnants of the ancient world. Founded in 9th century BC, Kaunos has witnessed several facets in history from the flourishing of civilizations to the rise and fall of past empires.
